This study is Mr. Iordachi’s MA thesis from the Central European University, Department of History, in Budapest and is mainly based on archival material from Radio Free Europe Archives (also located in Budapest).

Mr. Constantin Iordachi is specialising in contemporary world history.

He graduated from the University of Bucharest (1989-1994) with a major in Contemporary World History;

He has also completed an MA program at the University of Bucharest (1994-1995) focused on "Romania in the Twentieth Century" with a thesis project, "The Process of Liquidation of Private Industrial and Financial Property in Romania 1948-1952" co-ordinated by Prof. Dinu C. Giurescu and based on archival material.

From October 1996, Mr. Iordachi will be a graduate student in the Institute of International Relations, University of Leeds.
