26 - 28 April 2006 Bucharest, Romania
Dear Colleagues and friends,
It is my great pleasure to invite you all to the next ELAG meeting which takes place in Bucharest 26-29 April 2006. The theme of the seminar this year is: "New tools and new library practices".
As you can see in the programme, we will be happy to learn more about ICT applications in libraries and other cultural organisations in Romania, to get a taste of the latest new library systems concepts, and to know more about the emerging European Digital Library.
I hope you can find several issues of main concern to you and to your organization. So rendez-vous in Bucharest on April 26th at 8.30h at the BCU (Biblioteca Centrală Universitară Bucureşti [Central University Library Bucharest]), str. Boteanu nr. 1, sector 1, 010027 Bucharest (in the very centre of the town, across the National Art Museum). The participants who want to contribute in future activities of ELAG are cordially invited to the Board meeting on April 25th at 14h at the same place.
May I kindly ask you, including the members that do not attend the meeting, to send in a report of the progress made the last year in the library ICT field in your institute, or in your country. Please send this document before April 24th to Dan Matei (firstname.lastname@example.org) and to me (paula.goossens@KBR.BE). These will be discussed during special sessions scheduled for this, and are of interest to all of us.
Remark that we plan a common dinner on Thursday 27 which will cost 30 Euro. Please sign in at registration.
Please register on this side, where you can find more practical information on hotels and other points of interest. The conference fee is 30 Euro.
I hope to welcome many of you at ELAG 2006.
President of ELAG
