Standarde și recomandări în documentarea bunurilor culturale [Standards and
Recommendations in Cultural Heritage Documentation]
By Irina Oberländer-Târnoveanu, Dan Matei NEW!
The book presents for the first time in Romanian the main data and metadata
standards and cataloguing rules, the main international, European and national
norms, provisions and recommendations governing the field of cultural heritage
documentation, which have to be included in any inventory project or
information application regarding cultural property at institutional, regional,
national or international levels. These regulations refer both to the physical
heritage, conventionally or digitally documented, and to the digital heritage,
obtained from digitizing operations, for example, documents and scanned images
files, as well as directly produced in the digital environment, such as native
digital maps and images.

editors, researchers, archivists and documentarists (and to a lesser degree,
information scientists) and, especially, decision-makers in memory
institutions. The author has been involved directly in the last years in the Europeana
project and in various processes of digitisation and online publication of

HISTORY
The Social
Structure of the Peasantry: Kinship Structure (10th – 18th centuries)
By Florentina Udrea NEW!
The work (PhD thesis) is a comparative history study regarding the
social structures of Romanian and European peasantry between the 10th and 18th centuries, laying emphasis on the property and kinship
systems, a general perspective upon the evolution of peasantry. After 1989, no
such comparative study was made, one that attempts a synthesis, a general
perspective upon the social developments of peasantry. The author tackles the
issues of property, the unbreakable link between peasantry and property, as
well as upon the social institutions and structures in the Romanian Countries
and Mediaeval Europe.
